SHERMAN, Texas -- The Texoma Regional Blood Center is asking for donations because the supply of the life-giving fluid has run low.

They want to help those injured in the mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, but they don't have the resources.

"Our levels are really low right now.... our shelves are basically empty," said phlebotomist Latricia Dehorney. "Right now, we can't even help El Paso at the moment because of our shelves. When we get people to come in and donate, then we'll be able to help El Paso."

Walk-in donors are welcome at the Texoma Regional Blood Center, 3911 Texoma Parkway in Sherman, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays

The organization also has regular blood drives across the region. Call 903-893-4314 for more information.
