ARDMORE, Okla. -- An upgrade of Ardmore's Tiffany Plaza, now known as Thompson Square, began in late March.

Workers are nearing completion of phase one.

"Just kind of putting some finishing touches on it, finishing up some sheet metal and dry fit, and a little bit of electrical plumbing," said property manager James Thompson.

Despite the construction, some businesses in the shopping center on West Broadway Street already have their doors open for customers. Brad Downing, owner of 580 To Go, is looking forward to the final product.

"We're hoping it will increase business and we'll get a different clientele, or even the same clientele that want to come out here and enjoy the new places as well," he said.

This fresh new look won't only help out the existing businesses at Thompson Square.

"We've already had about nine as of today... nine new tenants sign to lease spaces," Thompson said.

An Ardmore native, he used this as an opportunity to make what had become an eyesore into something his neighbors can be proud of.

"It was very obvious just from the outside, but the inside had been ignored as well," Thompson said. "We've been doing those updates that are necessary to make sure we're offering our tenants a quality product."

After phase one is complete, workers will shift their focus to landscaping at the new Thompson Square.
