SHERMAN, Texas -- Share Ministries in Sherman provides food for low-income families and the homeless community in Grayson County.

"On the days that we hand out food, we serve around 75 people each day," coordinator Sherry Fallon said.

Currently, supplies are running low in the Share Ministries pantry at 820 East Houston Street.

"Things for the homeless -- sausage sticks, beef jerky, fruit cups, Vienna sausages with pull tops -- anything that the homeless can access easily," Fallon said.

That's where Sherman-based Red River ER comes in. The company's marketing director Kendra Landreth explains:

"I was looking for different organizations and I came across Share Ministries," she said. "I reached out to Suzy and she told me that their shelves were extremely low and they really needed help, so we decided to put this together."

Volunteers are crucial for this program to work, and the mother-daughter duo of Susan Bushey and Alice White spend their days helping out.

"It's addictive," White said. "Once you get started, you just can't quit!"

But these volunteers need backup, and issued an appeal for more help from their neighbors.

Sherry Fallon is thankful for those contributing to Share Ministries, which pledges to serve anyone who asks for help.

"Without our donors, we'd be in bad shape," she said. "We're just blessed to have grocery stores and food chains that donate all the time. Without them, people wouldn't have food."
