DENISON, Texas -- The Battle of the Badges blood drive is back. On Tuesday, the Texoma Regional Blood Center bloodmobile was at the Denison Central Fire Station.

The "battle" involves three cities -- Denison, Sherman and Bonham -- where residents are challenged to donate blood, then vote for their police and fire departments.

"Whichever department gives the most donations will carry the trophy for a year," said blood center spokeswoman Latricia Dehorney. "It's a good way to give back to the community."

The bloodmobile will be at the Denison Police Department on Wednesday; it will move to two locations in Sherman on July 16-17 and then on to Bonham on July 30-31.

Voting in the Battle of the Badges competition will continue through July 31. The bloodmobile will be on the road at least five days every week at a variety of locations in Grayson, Fannin and Cooke counties. Click here for a full schedule.
