MARSHALL COUNTY, Okla. -- A busy stretch of road in Marshall County is getting an upgrade to make sure everyone coming down for the Fourth of July can have a safe trip.

State Highway 106 can have substantial wear and tear going into the Little Glasses Resort and Marina this time of year. District 2 Commissioner Josh Cantrell said laying down some fresh asphalt should make for a smoother ride.

"It's got a few 'whoops' in it, so we're trying to take those out for the trucks pulling the big campers, the RVs and the large boats that come down through here," he said. "It'll be a little safer, take some of the 'whoop' out, and keep it from driving in the middle of the road."

Little Glasses Resort has been booked since May, and expects hundreds of guests for the bit summer holiday.
