WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A Wichita woman has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for sex trafficking of a 16-year-old girl.

U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said 31-year-old Brittany Knighton-Harris was sentenced Wednesday after previously pleading guilty to one count of sex trafficking.

In her plea, Knighton-Harris admitted she recruited the girl and made arrangements for her to perform sex acts for money in Wichita and later in Topeka, McAllister said.

McAllister commended the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart for their work on the case.

The Kansas Public Offender Registry shows a November 2017 conviction date. The date of the offense was July 1, 2013. She also has priors of forgery and aggravated escape from custody, prison records show.
