SHERMAN, Texas -- As Grayson County's population surges, an increase in freight and truck traffic is impacting an already busy US 75.

The long-term goal is to have a six-lane divided highway from the Collin County line north to US 82 in Sherman.

Grayson County Judge Bill Magers said there are several projects in the works for the freeway.

"The freight traffic has to do with what's happening in industry in general -- just-in-time inventory, internet sales are increasing -- you're going to see more and more truck traffic coming down the major highways," he said.

The latest US 75 projects are set to launch at the end of July.
