KINGSTON, Okla. -- Local businesses are joining forces to help Marshall County residents keep their cool this summer.

Lakeside Family Medicine is asking for fan donations to help those who may not have access to air conditioning.

"There are certain criteria that we have to do within the clinic... obviously outreach like we're doing here... and doing fan drives or doing things we feel like will benefit our patient population," said family nurse practitioner Amy Goedecke.

Lakeside is partnering with other merchants like Kingston Pharmacy to make drop-off locations more convenient for donors.

"It just opened my eyes to the fact that people actually need these," said pharmacy manager Sheriden Franks. "I think a lot of us take it for granted that we have an air conditioner, that we have a cool place to stay."

The fan drive will continue through July 3. Drop-off locations include:

  • Lakeside Family Medicine, 714 US 70 E, Kingston
  • Kingston Pharmacy, 7 North Main Street, Kingston
  • Gecko's Mexican Restaurant, 1626 US 70 E, Kingston
  • Marshall County Home Health, 112 South 1st Street, Madill
  • Hope for Marshall County, 1911 Elizabeth Boulevard, Oakland
