KINGSTON, Okla. -- What once was a well-known restaurant in Kingston was destroyed by fire on Thursday evening.

The alarm went out around 5 p.m. at the former Sanford's Steakhouse on US 70 near the Roosevelt Bridge.

About 30 firefighters from multiple area departments responded to the call about four miles east of Kingston.

The restaurant has been closed since at least last year. According to a real estate listing, the building was constructed in 1983 and had been offered for $800,000.

The structure was destroyed in the blaze, and the cause remains under investigation.

There were no reports of injuries.
