MADILL, Okla. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Office wants you to be aware of a scam.

Deputies are getting calls about sellers using online sites like Craigslist or Facebook who are losing money when making deals. Sheriff Danny Cryer says if the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

"If someone offers more money than you're asking for the item, that's a huge red flag for us," he said. "What they're going to do is ask you to rebate the extra that they've paid."

If you've fallen victim to a scheme like this, contact your local law enforcement office.
