ARDMORE, Okla. -- Emergency dispatchers in Ardmore are getting a little more elbow room.

They now have a new center that's twice as big, equipped with new gear, larger monitors, foot pedals, and desks designed to move with the dispatcher.

"There's three stations; we're not overcrowding each other," dispatcher Virginia Cottrell explained. "The better equipment makes our job more effective."

With the three positions, dispatchers can easily communicate with police, fire, and paramedics.

The dispatch center upgrade cost about $80,000.
