COOKE COUNTY, Texas -- The suspect in the fiery deaths of two people has been located near the Cooke County crime scene.

The Cooke County Sheriff's Office said the body of 37-year-old Mandeep Singh of Fort Worth was found Monday afternoon not far from where two other individuals were found dead in a burning vehicle on Sunday evening.

Investigators had issued an alert for Singh on Monday morning. Cooke County Sheriff Terry Gilbert says Singh had been wanted on a capital murder charge. He says an autopsy has been ordered to determine what caused his death.

Gilbert said the other two bodies were found in the back seat of the burning vehicle, which was in the middle of County Road 417 in northwest Cooke County, about 18 miles northwest of Gainesville.

The Muenster Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of the fire on Sunday and located the human remains. Their identities were not released.

The Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation.
