SHERMAN, Texas --  Three generations of florists are using their talents to put a smile on the faces of mom's across Texoma.

At Wayside Florist Saturday, hundreds of colorful floral arrangements were being prepared to be sent to mom's all over Texoma.

"It's a very busy day for all flower shops," said Wayside Florist owner Nadine Brown.

According to the National Retail Federation 84 percent of U.S. adults were expected to celebrate Mother's Day this year, with spending expected to reach a record breaking 25 billion dollars on flowers and going out to eat.

"It takes a lot of time to get all of this ready for us," said Brown. "We have to get it prepared and out the door."

For the last three years, Brown has enlisted the help of her family to make sure every order is carefully and uniquely processed.

"It's way worth waking up at 6 a.m. and driving an hour and a half," said Brown's daughter, Trenia White.

Although it's not how most spend celebrating their Mother's Day, this three generation family told KTEN it's all the more special.

"I've had a lot of friends that have lost their mother's lately," said White. "It means a lot more to me this time of year to be around my mom."

White's daughter Moriah says they used to spend Mother's Day going out to eat.

Now they're all doing their part to start a new generation for Wayside Florist -- cherishing every moment they have together while they process floral arrangements for families Texoma.

"Now that I get to do that and I can somehow be a part of that and influence that on people really makes it special for me," said White.

White says she hopes to take her grandmother's place as shop owner someday and continue the tradition as long as she can.
