ADA, Okla. -- The City of Ada is partnering with the Kiwanis Club to help replace an icon in the community's history.

They're looking to raise about $500,000 to update the Wintersmith Park train and its tracks. The train has been a fixture at the park for more than 60 years.

"Drive the train up, blow the whistle twice, and the park's full... it's just amazing," said Kiwanis Club president Don Mauch. "People love this train. We're going the fourth, maybe fifth generation of riders. It has not been too long ago that we had four generations in one car."

The Kiwanis will host a Save the Train Golf Tournament at Oak Hill Country Club on June 3.
