LOVE COUNTY, Okla. -- A man wanted for questioning in a Denton, Texas, death investigation is in the Love County jail after a high-speed chase Monday morning.

Deputies said the pursuit of Isaac Warriner began in Gainesville, Texas, when he allegedly jumped in his vehicle and nearly ran over a police officer.

The chase ended on Interstate 35 just outside of Thackerville, Oklahoma, after Warriner's tire blew out.

According to Denton police, the body of Warriner's mother was found Sunday night and showed signs of trauma.

"We may have to look into the mental conditions," said Love County Sheriff Marty Grisham. "Right now, we have him under a watch ... just to keep him safe while he's here in the Love County facility."

Officials have not released what caused the death of Warriner's mother.

Warriner has refused to return to Texas, so he will remain in the Love County jail until the sheriff's office obtains a warrant forcing him to go back.
