ARDMORE, Okla. -- Ardmore police continue their search for a wanted man.

On Tuesday evening, police obtained a felony warrant for Jorge Maldonado for lewd or indecent acts with a child under 16.

Since the first report against Maldonado, 40, as many as six other young girls have come forward.

"With each of the victims, it appears to be a multiple occurrence," said Detective Matt Miller. "It's happened more than once."

Officers found what they believe to be Maldonado's car at a residence on Springer Road, but there was no sign of the suspect.

"We do know that he has a pretty extensive family as well as friends in Texas and Oklahoma, so he could be hiding out with them," Miller said. "This guy will more than likely be caught by the public, so it's going to take somebody who has seen the stories, seeing the social, recognizes the guy."

Police say this case is a priority for them. They fear Maldonado could be trying to make his way to Mexico to avoid being charged in the U.S.
