CALERA, Okla. -- A big rig driver got lucky Thursday afternoon when his load shifted on busy US 69/75 in Calera.

Police said the truck braked hard near the intersection with Main Street, but part of its cargo of rebar didn't hold tight. It smashed right through the back of the cab, causing a hydraulic fluid leak in the southbound lanes of the highway.

The driver was unhurt, and no other vehicles were involved.

Texas-bound traffic was narrowed to a single lane while the 18-wheeler was moved out of the way and the spill was mopped up.

The cause of the incident was under investigation.
