Batten down the hatches: Texoma is on alert for a storm system that could deliver high winds and baseball-sized hail starting late Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says the most likely time frame for isolated but severe storms in the KTEN viewing area is 5 p.m. until midnight Wednesday.

In addition to large hail, damaging winds could reach 60 to 80 mph. The weather service said there is a low potential for tornadoes with these storms.

"Not everybody's going to see strong storms, but those that do are likely going to see some very large hail," KTEN meteorologist Cody Blevins said.
