DENISON, Texas — Friday's weather was ideal for shooting pigeons — clay pigeons, that is — at the 12th annual Denison Chamber of Commerce Clay Shoot.

A competition, silent auction, and food were a part of the fun as 26 teams competed to see could shatter the most clays.

"A lot of the money raised here goes to our local parades," said Chamber ambassador Shane Hill. "We're advocates for our businesses, and we also do our teacher luncheons and stuff like that... new teacher luncheons, teacher appreciation, things like that."

This event generally brings in between $15,000 to $20,000.
