ADA, Okla. -- Pontotoc County Commissioners are making sure drivers have a safer commute, thanks to a major road project.

There were safety concerns about deteriorating conditions along County Road 1570. The problem was especially acute for school buses carrying Latta Public Schools students.

"The school bus had a lot of problems on that road because there was no viewing, and a car would come over the hill so fast," said District 2 Commissioner Danny Davis. "It was definitely an issue."

The $4.5 million project is set to be complete in two months.
