Former Tom Bean City Council member Ben Vincent has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

In exchange for his guilty plea, he cannot be sentenced to more than 10 years.

The charge stems from an incident in July 2017 when Vincent crashed his car into a pickup truck owned by the Tom Bean Independent School District. The other driver was injured.

Sentencing is set for March 27.

Vincent, who had served on the Tom Bean Council for more than a decade, resigned his position following the crash, citing health issues.
