KINGSTON, Okla. -- The small town of Kingston is mourning the loss of one of their own after an accident on U.S. 70 Friday took the life of Robert Privit Jr.

"Robert always treated people with the utmost respect," said Assistant Police Chief John Bridgeman.

Privit, 18, lost his life Friday when his crew cab pickup struck an 18-wheeler between the Texoma Casino and Dollar General east of Kingston.

Bridgeman said this is the third wreck on U.S. 70 involving a semi truck in two years, all of them resulting in at least one death.

"All wrecks are bad, but whenever you come to a kid that's still in high school and has his whole life ahead of him... it makes it a lot harder," Bridgeman said.

Privit was a senior at Kingston High School. His friends tell us what they'll miss most about him is how much he cared.

"He was all about his family and friends, and was always there when someone needed him -- no matter who it was, " said friend and former co-worker Arielle Reed.

Bridgeman said he had seen Privit at school on Friday, with the contagious smile and positive attitude he was known for.

Reed and Bridgeman said dealing with Privit's death will be difficult.

"They're just gone one day." said Reed. "You start to look around for them everywhere."

Bridgeman said the city recently reduced the speed limit on U.S. 70. He asks that drivers be more aware.
