Van Alstyne honors judge for decades of service

VAN ALSTYNE, Texas -- A familiar face in Van Alstyne received a surprise honor at City Hall on Tuesday evening.

Judge Thomas Redwine was recognized for 40 years of service.

He is a Vietnam veteran who graduated from Baylor University and his law office is in Sherman.

Members of the community told us he's a good guy and a fair judge.

Redwine received a resolution signed by Gov Greg Abbott commemorating his four decades of public service.

City leaders said Judge Redwine is one of the longest-serving municipal judges for one city in the entire state.
