SHERMAN, Texas -- A new opportunity for children to learn is coming to Sherman.

MasterKey Ministries cut the ribbon Thursday on a new bilingual preschool at Crutchfield Heights Baptist Church.

Classes will be held in both English and Spanish, and the tuition is designed to be affordable for low-income families.

"Many of the children start kindergarten without the necessary skills to even be able to sit down in a chair, to play cooperatively," said school director Helen Shoulders. "Some of them have never looked at a book, and so we really hope to fill a need."

The bilingual academy at 600 South Dewey Avenue is for three-and four-year-olds. It opens Monday and has room for 48 students. Call 903-267-3774 for more information.
