Ex-Davis teacher makes plea deal in student relationship case

Posted: Updated:

DAVIS, Okla. -- A former Davis schoolteacher who was accused of soliciting sexual communication with a student last year will not go to jail.

Cassandra White reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

You remember the story: Davis High School called police to report a possible inappropriate relationship after being flagged by a parent.

White then filed for a marriage license with the student, who was a 16-years-old sophomore at the time. The application in Cleveland County was dropped by the court shortly after being filed.

White was arrested in April.

As part of the deal, White will spend the next 10 years on probation, surrender her teaching license, undergo psychological treatment, and serve 200 hours of community service.
