GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas -- Two motorists were injured and traffic was snarled Tuesday morning after an accident on U.S. 82 between Whitesboro and Sherman.

State troopers said a sport utility vehicle driven by 53-year-old Patsy Dodd of Gainesville failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of Old Southmayd Road and was struck by an eastbound sedan.

Dodd was airlifted to a hospital in Plano, Texas for treatment. The other driver, 21-year-old Taylor Nimmo of Gainesville, was taken to Texoma Medical Center. The extent of their injuries was not available.

Eastbound traffic on U.S. 82 was restricted while first responders dealt with the victims and the wreckage was cleared.
