DENISON, Texas -- The Grayson County District Attorney's office and Denison police have made a second arrest in connection with a year-old murder case.

Robert Allen was shot and killed on the night of Halloween 2017 at his family's plumbing business on Eisenhower Parkway.

Denison police arrested Timothy Lee Barnum on Monday morning, charging him with first degree murder.

According to the DA's office, Barnum is believed to be a co-conspirator in the slaying with Tyrone Sommers, who was arrested last week on the anniversary of Allen's death.

Investigators said Barnum's motive is believed to be connected to Allen's daughter.

"That could be partial to the motive for this murder as well, as well as Allen's family's desire to limit Mr. Barnum's visitation with the child that he had with Robert Allen's daughter," explained District Attorney Brett Smith.

Smith added that Barnum has previously been convicted of two counts of attempted murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Both Barnum and Sommers are booked in the Grayson County jail; bond was set at $1 million for each man.
