Woman killed, children hurt in Calera crash

CALERA, Okla. -- A woman died and two children were seriously injured in a Monday night accident on U.S. 69/75 in Calera.

According to police, a small sport utility vehicle was attempting to cross the highway from Main Street when an 18-wheeler approached the intersection with a green light.

The big rig broadsided the SUV on the driver's side, killing the woman who was behind the wheel.

One of the children in the vehicle was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital, the other was taken to Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Both were last reported in critical condition.

No names have been released.

Traffic on the highway was restricted as the accident was investigated.
