DURANT, Okla. -- Oklahoma's new medical marijuana law is creating headaches for cities across the Sooner State.

On Tuesday night, Durant city staff presented a proposed ordinance to the City Council containing local regulations for cannabis distribution and use. They've been working to formulate the terms of the ordinance over the past several months.

Council members decided to table any official decisions and instead opted to schedule a public forum to seek input from citizens. The time and date of the event will be posted on the city's Facebook page when it is set.

The Council also discussed the establishment of beer gardens in the city, which they will most likely allow in the future. The associated ordinance will require some fine tuning before it goes up for a final vote, likely to occur at the next meeting.
