JOHNSTON COUNTY, Okla. -- Search teams planned to continue their search Tuesday for two Carter County teenagers who disappeared after making plans for an outing in neighboring Johnston County on Sunday.

A relative identified one of the young men as 18-year-old Van Hicks of Lone Grove.

"They went to Pennington Creek yesterday to swim and have not been seen since," wrote Sue Stitt in a Facebook post. "They found the car with their belongings in it and a search team has been out there all night and morning."

The search began around midnight Sunday.

The Johnston County Sentinel reported that search and rescue teams from Tishomingo, Johnston County, Ravia, Connerville, Coal County and Cairo were all involved in trying to locate the missing men.

They were working against the clock because more rain was in the forecast.
