DENISON, Texas -- After months of talks the city of Denison has added two new resources officers for the school district.

The city announced the news in Tuesday night’s city council meeting. This decision has been in the works since the summer.

One officer will primarily be at the elementary school and one at the intermediate school.

"Well it just helps kids to familiarize themselves with someone they can go to if they have an issues or have something they want to tell an officer that they have that relationship that they feel comfortable with,” said Odis Luper, Denison ISD Resource Officer.

This makes four officers total for district. All are full-time.
