Oklahoma child electrocuted by dryer

RAVIA, Okla. – One child is dead after apparently being electrocuted.

At 8:20 Wednesday morning the Johnston County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call that an unresponsive child had been taken to the Ravia City Hall.

When responders arrived they administered CPR, but it was unsuccessful.

Sheriff Jon Smith said Lily Minyard reportedly went behind a clothes dryer to retrieve a stuck puppy. She then came in contact with a bare spot on the electrical wiring leading to the dryer.

Smith said the death was apparently caused from electrocution, but the medical examiner office will determine the official cause of death.
