SHERMAN, Texas -- The Federal Drug Administration still isn't recognizing Cannabidoil  as a prescription, but The owner of Texoma American Shaman says it helped him cope with his pain and cut down on his prescription opioid usage.

"This product is easy for me to sell, because I have my own story and I have a lot of passion behind it," said Randy Jones, a co-owner of Texoma American Shaman.

Jones shares his story with KTEN after the CBD product helped improve his life.

"The worst pain started in 2012, " said Jones. "It just began in my mid back and increased over time."

When Jones visited doctors, they diagnosed him with Psoriatic Arthritis and degenerative disk disease.

"When he would be walking, he would have to hold stuff sometimes." said Carolyn Jones, Randy's mother. "He was just miserable."

For the pain, doctors gave Randy prescription opioid, but even with the prescription he still had to have surgery.

"I had a stimulator put into my back," said Randy. "It was only in there for about a year, until my psoriatic arthritis rejected the device."

With nothing else working, Randy looked at CBD for help.

"Within the first day, I noticed a miraculous change in my pain levels," said Randy.

Randy says by taking the CBD, it's allowed him to cut back on more than half of the opioid he was taking.

Something he says was life changing for him and his family and that's why they decided to open Texoma American Shaman, hoping to make a difference in people's lives like the CBD did for his.
