PAUL'S VALLEY, Okla. -- Paul’s Valley Regional Medical Center: still fighting to keep the lights on.

The hospital held a news conference today to give an update on fund raising.

Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate Drew Edmondson was at the event to tour and learn more about the facility.

Speaking to the crowd, Alliance Health Partners CEO, Frank Avignone said losing the hospital will cost the town more than just healthcare, but businesses as well. That’s one of the reasons this hospital is needed more than ever.

"Help us save this hospital. Continue to get the message out. There is not another hospital for 40 to 45 minutes that can take care of you like this one can. We've had some pretty serious injuries come to E.R. In the last 48 hours," Avignone said.

Avignone said they are currently $80 thousand short of where they need to be right now.
