PLANO, Texas, Sept. 26, 2018 – Six Texas high school football stars have been recognized in the fourth week of the 2018 Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week program.

In its thirteenth consecutive year, Ford Motor Company’s Player of the Week program is again honoring six outstanding student-athletes each week of the 2018 regular season, recognizing one player in each of the state’s six athletic classifications. The winners are chosen for athletic achievements on the field, as well as for outstanding scholarship and community involvement. These players are the embodiment of Ford’s Go Further commitment.
 
This week’s winning athletes join a long list of remarkable players recognized for their exceptional efforts.
 
Week 4 Winners
 

• Class 6A – Haynes King, Jr., Quarterback, Longview
• Class 5A – Devon Achane, Jr., Running Back, Fort Bend Marshall 
• Class 4A – Jacob Mechler, Sr., Defensive End, Andrews
• Class 3A – Tyler Rodriguez, Sr., Quarterback, Bonham 
• Class 2A – Dailon Smith, Sr., Running Back, West Sabine
• Private schools – Dylan Cadwallader, Sr., Quarterback, Prestonwood Christian Academy

Class 3-A: Tyler Rodriguez, Senior, Quarterback, Bonham
Opponent: Hillcrest 
This was the third straight win for the Bonham Warriors, even though a rain delay forced the game into 10-minute quarters. Quarterback Tyler Rodriguez had a total of 15-19 completions-attempts, 263 yards passing, seven touchdown passes, 81 yards rushing and one touchdown rush.

Bonham High School defeated Dallas Hillcrest Panthers 67-34, despite being in a full classification below the opponent. 
 
“Tyler is the definition of complete team player,” said Head Coach John Fish. “He is a captain, ultimate leader. Does all the little things right. Did not miss a single Summer workout. Takes all AP classes. His leadership is completely changing the culture and dynamic of our locker room.”
