ATOKA, Okla. -- Atoka police said they nabbed a man transporting thousands of dollars of counterfeit cash on Thursday.

The man, identified as Christopher M. Rogers, was apprehended at the Sonic Drive-In in the 600 block of South Mississippi Avenue.

Officers seized a bag with more than $11,000 of fake money in his car, and Atoka police Capt. Brian Snead said Rogers appears to be no stranger to law enforcement.

"This is probably going to be a nationwide deal," he said. "We've already been told by another agency that these same bills with the same serial code has been found in two other states."

Rogers, 20, had been arrested in Trenton, Tennessee, a year ago for a similar counterfeiting charge.
