DENISON, Texas -- Have you ever done something you regret and then have to live with that decision for the rest of your life?

Jennifer Carter has been living with an ill-considered tattoo.  Now she's getting a second chance from Fox Tattoo in Denison.

"It means a lot to me because of my past and how I grew up from where I came from," she said.

An artist at the parlor is covering up that unwanted in with a new design.

"I was stupid, young... I was with a guy and got his name tattooed on me with a bunch of different things," Carter said.

Stephanie Lowder, owner of Fox Tattoo, said she's on a mission to turn permanent "mistakes" into something positive.

"Whatever you've been through in your life or in the past, it doesn't define you," she said. "Even something as permanent as a tattoo, you can still change that and make it into something beautiful."

Her mission got started last August when Lowder's friend couldn't find a job because of her tattoo, so they decided to help her cover it up.

"Whatever you've been through in your life or in the past, it doesn't define you," Lowder said.

Now they're ready to offer the same service for other Texomans, all at no cost..

"We want to use the gifts that God has given us and give back in any way that we can," Lowder said. "That's kind of been our hope and out mission here."

Jennifer Carter had her tattoo replaced with praying hands and a cross, symbolizing her newfound faith.

"Spiritual change, emotional change, everything," she said. "I don't have to look in the mirror every day and regret it; I can look at something better and realize that somebody did something good for the community."

Fox Tattoo does one cover-up every month. You can message them on Facebook to request an appointment.
