ANNA, Texas -- It seems everybody's always in a hurry to get somewhere, but speeding is just a dangerous way to drive.

City officials in Anna, Texas, are doing something about it with the Drive Like Your Kids Live Here campaign.

Police and city staffers hope the slogan will remind drivers to slow down, especially in neighborhoods.

Police officials said they have recently received a lot of complaints about people speeding through communities, and with kids coming to and from school, it's a problem they felt a need to address.

So they posted "Drive Like Your Kids Live Here" signs in neighborhoods around the city.

"I think this is what community policing is: You know, trying to just make people aware and cooperative," said police spokesman Lt. Pete Copin.

After getting funding for the campaign approved by City Council, Copin said police received a lot of positive feedback from parents, saying it was long overdue.

Parents can purchase a yard sign at the Anna Police Department for $8.
