ARDMORE, Okla. -- A $25 million retail project broke ground Wednesday in Ardmore.

It will be called Market Street at Ardmore, the city's fourth shopping center.

Big retailers Academy Sports and Home Goods will anchor the center's attractions, and developer Burley Burk Collins is emphasizing consumer convenience.

"People don't have to drive to Oklahoma City or Dallas to get that type of shopping; that's what Ardmore's really been needing," he said.

Market Street at Ardmore, at the corner of 12th Avenue and Commerce Street, is planning a grand opening next spring.
