THACKERVILLE, Okla. -- WinStar Wold Casino said Sunday that 14 visitors and employees who were injured Saturday evening when a storm caused a structure to collapse have been cleared and released from area hospitals.

The incident happened more than two hours before a scheduled sold-out outdoor concert by the Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees.

WinStar spokeswoman Kym Koch said the casino began evacuating the Colosseum outdoor venue at 5 p.m. after lightning was detected within four miles.

She said approximately 150 people failed to heed the evacuation warning when the storm hit about 30 minutes later and a truss holding up a sign outside the venue collapsed.

Koch said 14 people were injured. All were treated at the scene and then transported to local hospitals for further evaluation.

No damage to the arena itself was reported, but the concert was postponed. The casino issued this statement:

We will notify patrons of the new date and time Tickets to the August 18 show will be honored at the new date.

We know that fans often suffer through inclement weather for their favorite acts, but this was an unusual event and our thoughts are with those who were injured during this storm.

The Backstreet Boys tweeted that they will "attempt to reschedule" the show.

The Colosseum is located east of the casino building and south of the hotel. A production staff member for the Backstreet Boys show tweeted that more than 12,000 people were expected to attend.

Thackerville is just north of the Oklahoma-Texas state line, 70 miles north of Dallas.
