ARDMORE, Okla. -- Ardmore police have arrested a man linked to two killings last November.

Officials say 32-year-old Carlton Franklin was arrested in the Oklahoma City area in connection with the deaths of Karli Clearman and Justin Sullivan. Their bodies were found in a burning car in the driveway of a home in the 700 block of Anderson Street SE on November 11.

Franklin was moved from the Oklahoma County Jail to Carter County on Thursday morning.

"We are firm in our belief that this is a good case," said Assistant Police Chief Kevin Norris. "The investigators and crime scene analysts and investigators did a great job putting it together. We believe that because [District Attorney Craig] Ladd is filing the case."

Franklin is facing two charges of first degree murder. He and Sullivan had been reported missing from an Oklahoma City halfway house shortly before the killings.

"We hope in the next months, year, two years... however long this is... that in the end, that the victims will have some justice, and the families can have faith in the system, and that we were the voices for the victims that couldn't speak for themselves," Norris said.
