ARDMORE, Okla. -- Girls on the Run made a stop at Ardmore's Mercy Hospital on Wednesday.

The week-long camp focuses on helping grade school girls become stronger physically and emotionally.

Over the course of the camp, participants learn about different careers. General surgeon Dr. Valerie Jolly told the students she hopes they get all they can out of this opportunity.

"I'd like them to just get to have some experience with all different types of professions and careers that women can be in today," she said.

Girls on the Run has programs for girls in 3rd to 8th grades.
