DAVIS, Okla. -- A settlement has reached in the lawsuit between Falls Creek Youth Camp and the family of a 13-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted by a cook at the facility.

According to The Oklahoman, details of the settlement have not been disclosed. This includes any possible financial settlement.

The lawsuit followed the incident in which 37-year-old Benjamin Petty pleaded guilty to the rape and was sentenced to 15 years probation.

The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma agreed to take steps to improve safety at the camp. Communications director Brian Hobbs issued a statement saying the camp will work with churches to ensure the safety of campers.

"We have prayed for a respectful resolution of this very serious matter," he said. "We are thankful that the ministry of Falls Creek continues forward to bless thousands of people in Oklahoma and across the region for the glory of God."

Those new safety rules have not yet been publicly outlined.
