SHERMAN, TX. -- The Texoma Christian Eagles gearing up for what they hope will be a memorable season.
"With all the opportunity that we'll have this year, with new coaches and new players, it's going to be great," TCS senior Lake Taylor said. "We're praising God through all of it, giving Him the glory."
"It's a better environment than I've ever been in," Tymothe Rosenthal, who is in his first year with the Eagles, said. "The work here is amazing, and the coaches are very encouraging. They know what they are doing and they know how hard they need to push us to get to our ultimate goal, which is a state championship."
For the third year in a row, change has hit the head coaching position. Now it's Athletic Director Mark Ellison taking over the reins of the program.
"It doesn't bother me at all," Ellison said. "I've been at TCS now for 15 years. I know the ins-and-outs of the school, I know the kids better than anybody around TCS. It makes it a lot easier for me to come in and get these kids going and on the right track."
"His character is pretty strong," Rosenthal said. "He just seemed like a really nice coach to come work for, he knew what he was doing when I came in."
No matter his position in the TAPPS Division 4 school, his message remains unchanged.
"It's going to take teamwork and a lot of pursuit and hard work and knowing that anything is possible," Taylor said.
"We've just got to come together," Ellison said. "We've got to have a positive vibe, we've got to believe in each other and we have to believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That's what is going to bring us together, if we stay humble and do the right things, we'll be ok."
The Eagles are scheduled to open the season on August 31st at Pantego Christian Academy
