SHERMAN, Texas -- Charles Marshall will spend at least eight years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2016.

During his week-long trial, another girl told jurors she was also victimized by Marshall, 20.

"I know that both victims came into the courtroom, they were both very strong in their testimony and they told the jury what happened exactly, and they were consistent," said Grayson County Assistant District Attorney Britton Brooks. "Ultimately they convinced the jury beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant did commit the crime."

Brooks added that recorded testimony was presented during the trial from Sherman police, where Marshall confessed to the sexual assault.
