PUSHMATAHA COUNTY, Okla. -- A woman was killed and two children were injured when their car went out of control near the town of Snow on Tuesday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a Toyota driven by 29-year-old Lacy Stamps of Clayton was headed south on U.S. 271 when the vehicle went off the pavement. She lost control trying to get back on the two-lane highway and hit a tree. The car landed on its roof.

Stamps was pronounced dead about two hours later at Pushmataha County Hospital. Investigators said she had not been wearing a seat belt.

OHP said an eight-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl were seriously hurt in the wreck. They were airlifted to OU Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City and were last reported to be in stable condition. The children were not identified.
