ARDMORE, Okla. -- It's a special time of year for the Shops at Ardmore as they kick off the celebration of the city's 131st birthday this weekend.
"It's been a tradition for decades now, and we just keep it going," property manager Cathy Bump said.
This year's celebration will include vendors, indoor sidewalk sales, and bounce houses and face painting for the kids.
"We like to have everyone enjoy something during the summer, and this is one of the main events that we do here," Bump said.
Ardmore residents who attend the event every year say they can't think of a better way to celebrate their home town.
"It's growing, and we have so many things that are new from when I was in high school and middle school here," said Kelsie Wagner. "It's just a wonderful town that everyone loves to celebrate."
Cathy Bump said it's their way of giving back to the community.
"I love seeing the kids have fun and everyone enjoy the Shops at Ardmore," she said. "We just want to pay back to Ardmore for coming here and shopping with us."
There will even be some birthday cake to go around at the party which starts Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.
