DENISON, Texas -- The Denison Fire Department is partnering with Denison Firefighters Association to donate fans to citizens in need.

The department went to the Denison Walmart to purchase $900 worth of fans; the store contributed a $100 gift card.

Capt. Cheyenne Henderson said the fans will be distributed to fire stations and some will be loaded on trucks when responding to calls.

"If we assess the situation and we see that the home or the residence is warm, we will give them to the residents," she said.

Henderson added that citizens who need some cooling relief can also visit the central fire station at 700 West Chestnut Street or the south side location at 3306 South Park Avenue to request a fan while supplies last.
