SHERMAN, Texas -- Grayson County sheriff's deputies will soon have more tools of their trade thanks to a private sector grant.

The $15,609 donation from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation goes toward buying equipment including handheld radios, ballistic vests and a K-9 training suit.

"We are very excited," said sheriff's office spokesperson Capt. Sarah Bigham. "We love receiving support from the community in different forms, and grants are different ways that we can do that."

We're told all the paperwork's done, the foundation will release the funds, then the new equipment will be on the way.
