DALLAS, TX. -- The Stars went north to find their first pick of the 2018 NHL Draft.
The Stars selected Canadian Ty Dellandrea with the 13th overall pick in the draft. The pick announced in front of plenty of fans at the American Airlines Center.
Dellandrea led the way for his major junior ice hockey team, the Flint Firebirds, with 27 goals in the past season. Dellandrea is also a member of Team Canada's 2017 Ivan Hinka Memorial gold medal-winning team.
Stars legend Mike Modono and current Stars forward Jamie Benn announced the pick, standing in front of the Stars front office.
The NHL Scouting Bureau listed Dellandrea as the 25th best prospect among those in the entry draft.
